'Bonnie was always there, supporting me at every step along the way'.

Bonnie Stack

Mother of two wildlings.
Nature lover.
Comfort seeker.
Advocate, friend, compassionate listener.

Let's get to know each other.

I live in a small village between Aylsham and North Walsham, with my husband, our two children, and two cats.

I usually hover between two states, either snuggled up in my fluffy socks with a cuppa, or embracing all weather in the great outdoors, dragging the kids along for the ride! I can often be found in the sea, pool or sauna, or stretching out on my yoga mat. In this season of my life, I enjoy movement for the delicious feelings in my body and the calm in my mind, rather than seeking peak fitness!

I feel a deep connection with the natural world, and weave the seasons and cycles gently into my work.

I'm a big charity shop and secondhand fan! I make it my mission to circulate the old rather than consuming new. I find joy uncovering hidden gems; knowing that items had a story before their time with me.

My journey into this work began with grief.

My mum died in my early 20s, and whilst this was the saddest, hardest thing I have ever had to endure, it was also a transformative, gentle and meaningful experience.  As I was processing my grief, I found yoga, and it held me through a time when words and thinking weren’t enough.

It wasn't long after Mum died that I got married, and had my babies. The raw experience of loss, and the grief I was still feeling shaped my births, and guided me to care for myself in a way I had never imagined I was capable of before.

I added other somatic modalities to my practice over time, and through movement, breath, touch, sound and stillness, I have learnt how emotions can move through the body rather than being held in tension or suppressed by my mind. The body holds our experiences, fears and emotions, and it also knows how to process them when given the right conditions.

I weave other tools into my life and my work such as mindfulness, visualisation, journalling, and being held in sacred and intentional spaces, such as women’s circles and retreats, and I feel and witness the huge benefits of these rich and varied practices. It is my honour, and I believe my purpose, to share these gifts with others, alongside emotional and practical support, as they navigate life’s significant and challenging transitions and rites of passage of birth, death and grief.

My own Births as Embodied Experiences

As I prepared for my own births, I discovered hypnobirthing, and experienced first-hand how mind, body and soul preparation gave me so much more than information alone could. Birth asked me to surrender into sensation and intensity, listen to my intuition and allow my body to lead.

The Value of Support

I knew that for me, a strong support system would be essential to my feeling of safety. I was acutely aware of a tangible absence where my mum should have been, so I filled the gap as best as I could. I registered with a continuity of care midwife, and sought support from a doula who I trusted and felt deeply connected with, and my partner prepared alongside me. My team’s commitment and understanding of my priorities was invaluable, and while continuity of clinical carer is now hard to come by in NHS maternity services, I offer a familiar, grounding presence in the birth room, giving you encouragement, emotional and practical support and advocacy when needed; always led by you.

Birth as empowering, fulfilling and joful

Without any rose tinted glasses, and a full acknowledgement of how intense (absolutely hardcore!) my births were, I was able to experience birth as exquisite, powerful, and truly divine! My hope is that everyone finds their own way to access their innate power, and experiences a powerful, joyful and transformational birth. I have supported births along the full spectrum, from freebirth to planned Caesarian section, and pretty much everything in between. I know it is possible, and life changing, to go into birth with a deep sense of trust, power and emotional safety, and to have an empowering and satisfying experience with all types of birth.

From Healthcare to Heart-Led Work

Alongside my personal journey, I spent over a decade within the NHS as a specialist speech and language therapist, working in the acute medical setting with adults who have swallowing and communication difficulties. This often involved supporting complex decision making, explaining complex information in a clear and helpful way, advocating for those who were vulnerable or unable to speak for themselves, and holding space for sensitive conversation with compassion.

I witnessed the limits of systems that prioritise protocols over presence, and I felt called to work in a way that was slower, more intentional, and more aligned with my values; centred on the whole person, their wellbeing and experience, not just ticking boxes and fighting fire. Because I am familiar with the medical setting, dynamics and jargon, I am a grounding steady presence through a medicalised birth, maintaining a sense of calm, peace and power through any twists or turns birth may take. I support all types of birth without judgement, and have no emotional investment in the choices or method of birth you decide to have. I am here to support you through your journey, however that looks.

The Doula I am today

Being a doula allows me to bring together my clinical experience, my ability to hold space for rites of passage with tenderness and compassion, and my embodied, intuitive practices, into something that feels grounded and deeply aligned.

My work as a doula centres on:

Mindful presence, and truly hearing the voices of my clients.

Honouring birth and death as a rite of passage

Holistic and somatic, mind, body and soul preparation and processing.

Nervous system regulation and emotional safety

Breath and body-based practices for labour

Supporting partners and loved ones with calm and grounded presence, so they feel confident and empowered

I work gently and intuitively, creating space to prepare for, and experience birth and other rites of passage in a way that feels authentic, embodied and deeply supported.

I don’t believe the body needs to be mastered or controlled. I believe it asks to be met with presence and trust to feel safe enough to soften and release.

If my approach resonates, I’d love to walk alongside you as you journey through your rite of passage in a way that honours all you are, and all you are becoming.

Training and Experience

After I had already spent several years supporting friends through their pregnancies, births and parenting journeys, I finally undertook my Birth and Postnatal Doula preparation course in 2022. I also undertook my End Of Life Doula foundation course in 2025.

I have completed numerous further training courses, including on topics such as Hypnobirthing, Birth Debriefing, Trauma informed care, Biomechanics, Rebozo for birth, Closing the Bones, Holding Women's Circles.

I regularly attend women's circles, yoga classes, somatic retreats, and connect with my local community of birth workers. I believe that these regular practices enable me to feel well resourced and supported to offer this deep and energetically demanding work.

I have experience supporting a wide range of births in the home and hospital settings, including undisturbed physiological birth and Freebirth, instrumental and planned C-sections. I have supported many women choosing to birth 'outside of guidelines,' and through various complications, such as longer pregnancies (42+ weeks), high BMI, medical complications, suspected 'big babies,' breech babies and  more.
